Meliora Travel ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Meliora Travel iOS app and website (melioratravel.app), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

When you use Meliora Travel, we may collect the following:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo, provided when you sign in with Google or Apple.
• Trip data: Destinations, travel dates, milestones, stages, budgets, and any other trip planning information you enter.
• Device information: Your device's push notification token, used solely to send you milestone and booking-deadline reminders.
• Location (optional): Your approximate location, used only to auto-detect your home country on the world map during trip creation. We do not store or track your location.
• Usage data: Anonymized crash reports and error logs via Firebase, used to improve app stability.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalize the Meliora Travel service.
• To sync your trip data across your devices via Firebase Firestore.
• To send you push notifications about trip milestones and deadlines (you can disable these at any time in iOS Settings).
• To enable Live Collaboration features when you invite co-managers to a trip.
• To improve app performance and fix bugs.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Features

Meliora Travel includes smart features powered by artificial intelligence to assist you with trip planning:

• Smart Suggestions: Suggests proactive tips, milestone recommendations, and packing reminders tailored to your chosen destination, travel season, and itinerary stages.
• AI Budget Planner: Estimates typical travel expenses and generates recommended spending envelopes (Flights, Lodging, Food & Drink, Transportation, and Activities) based on destination cost norms, trip duration, and party size.
• Privacy & Data Minimization: When utilizing AI features, only contextual parameters necessary for calculations (e.g., destination, length of stay, party size) are processed. We never transmit sensitive personal identifiers (such as your name, email, payment cards, or authentication credentials) to AI models.
• No Model Training on Your Data: Your private itineraries, personal budget entries, and trip notes are never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train third-party public AI models.

Data Storage & Security

Your trip data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We apply Firestore security rules to ensure that each user can only access their own data (or data explicitly shared with them via collaboration).

Third-Party Services

Meliora Travel uses the following third-party services:

We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties, ever. Your trip data is yours.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@melioratravel.app or by using the account deletion option within the app (Profile → Delete Account). Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Children's Privacy

Meliora Travel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
